Home Staging Education

Home Staging Education Is Optional

There is no professional home staging education needed to begin a career in home staging.  A person only needs talent, ability, and creativity to begin in home staging.  Although it is a challenging job if you have a great imagination and an artistic mind for home décor, a home staging business may be a good profession for you.

A home staging certificate is not required to begin a career. Neither a formal education nor any other type of credentials or educational background is necessary.  There are guides available that will walk you through the necessary steps such as design, project coordination, marketing, how to determine fees and other costs, and any basic business tools you will need.  Many people go through an expensive home staging course and it still doesn’t give them all of the information that they need to make it in home staging.

On the other hand, there are some who do feel that it is necessary to receive the extensive training learned only through home staging education.  If you are one of these people there is a three day accredited home training course designed by Barb Schwarz.  This course teaches you how to get your business started.  All three days have classes which last from 9 am – 5:30 pm.

On the first day of class you are taught how to use furniture that the client already has for staging purposes.

On day two you will learn about the different rooms in a house which have to be staged.  You also work with creative problem solving ideas and how to effectively use the tools that you have to work with.  During the evening portion of day, everyone in the class will visit a home which is currently listed for sale and learn a hands-on method of staging.

On the third day of your home staging education class you will learn pricing, inventory, and marketing.  You will also learn the value of working with the public and with real estate agents.  More extensive work such as bid preparation and consultation will be studied.

Basically, when you finish the home staging education course you should be capable of running your own home staging business.  This three day hone staging course will cost $1,795 when taught by an instructor.  When the course is taught by Barb Schwarz the cost will be $2,150.

As I’ve stated earlier on, it is not necessary for a person to take any type of training course to learn the art of home staging.  However, having the benefit and certification of an accredited home staging education background will put you a step above the rest.
